Ninasaycheese and other adventures.

Last week Saturday afternoon, I packed the Rabbit and the Nu in to the car and scooted off to Vanessa & Michael Lewis’ photo studios in Joburg. I do not have words for how amazing that place is. Really. I think that Graeme has a little ‘advertising’ crush on Michael. He loves his work. I was too busy trying to figure out how to fit the antique typewriter in to my handbag. I’m sure nobody would have noticed. I had it all figured out.
The clever lady behind “Nina Say Cheese” has built four beautiful, enchanting little sets themed Circus; Forest; Tea Party and Pilot. It made me wish that I was three years old again. All I wanted to do was sit my bum down at that tea party with an imaginary friend. And cupcakes.
We had so much of the fun. Vanessa (the photographer and beautiful mommy to Nina) is just super talented and really nice. She’s so good with the kids and gets them to relax and have fun. The shoot was so natural, easy and totally enjoyable. I think that the pictures speak for themselves. Yes. They are saying “Look how happy and awesome we are”.
You don’t have to prep your kids or go shopping for seven hours for nice outfits. She has everything there. You really just show up with a kid under your arm. It’s magic! Especially for me, as I am not very good at organizing or keeping the kids clean for very long. It really removes the stress and panic from the whole thing.
Also, I am trying to set Noah & Nina up for an arranged marriage. It has a nice ring to it, yes? Noah and Nina. It’s meant to be. That’s her in the tea party pics at the bottom. They had so much fun jumping on the trampolines and playing with the pooches in the garden. Next time we go, I’ll maybe brush his hair or something. That boy needs to make an impression!
What are you waiting for? Christmas?!! Get your kids in on the awesome! Mail [email protected] to organize the details. Happy times.
